The Banana plant stands out, for me at least, as the true botanical icon of the tropics.
 
The banana leaf is made in brass and has been textured and curled to mimic the  banana leaves exposed to the elements here in the Windward Island of Barbados. 
 
The hook is made from steel with a brass bead at the end made from melting brass offcuts.
