With breathtaking views of the South Coast, Vista Bar sits proudly on the top floor of Hotel Indigo. Bold colour choices greet you the moment you enter, a celebration of hot pinks, yellows, and deep greens, while floor-to-ceiling windows make full use of the bar’s greatest asset: the ocean.

Our focus was the bar area itself: an ample countertop with undeniable potential, but nowhere to store the bottles. With no vertical shelving to speak of, a cluttered surface was stealing the spotlight from what should have been a dramatic back-bar showcase. The room demanded a bespoke solution - a functional workspace for staff that could double as an unapologetically bold architectural centrepiece.

Art Deco influences are apparent throughout the lounge - the daring juxtaposition of vibrant colours teamed with deep greens, the brass highlights and the architectural curves. 
The Sunburst motif, a symbol of optimism in the 1920s, caught our eye and it was this iconic feature that led the design for the bar shelf from the very beginning. 
 

• The Sunburst Gate: Handcrafted brass semi-circles and subtle pink accents mirror the room’s main entrance, anchored by a dramatic kinetic opening mechanism.

• Reflected Horizon: A full-height mirrored backing captures ambient room light and glimpses of the sea, doubling the visual depth of the space.

• Integrated Glow: Concealed LED strip lighting behind each shelf lip casts a warm, precise light on premium spirits and cocktail work surfaces.
